Shot in London after a bumpy casting call (surprisingly, even here it appears to be challenging finding women with freckles), Constellations is a short by director Lisa Rovner.

Wishing to closely inspect what it means to be – and grow up as being – a woman with freckles, the movie candidly captures these women’s first-hand encounters with being unique looking.

In the age of airbrushed everything, the prototype of a beautiful woman seems almost unattainable by natural means. says Rovner. Are the so-called ‘flaws’ that are driving women to do almost anything to change their looks really flaws? I wanted to make a film to investigate that question.
