A few years ago, whilst browsing a favourite design blog, I came across Rifle Paper Co. Although by then still a newborn, one could foresee a very bright future for this brand and its owners – illustrator Anna Bond and her husband Nathan – and before you knew it, everyone was talking about it, from author India Knight – whose custom portrait calling cards were made by RP – to every single design publication. With its one-of-a-kind hand-painted illustrations, tongue-in-cheek humour, and delightful old-school style, needless to say, Rifle Paper has been with me ever since, as a beautifully-illustrated companion on the departure of a French friend to her native Paris, family holiday celebrations, and even the first written card to my beloved. The collection has grown tremendously since then, and nowadays, besides a stunning collaboration with French du jour Garance Doré (check the 2015 Beauté Desk Calendar), it boasts everything from their trademark whimsical cards to stationery, colourful journals and notepads, calendars, iPhone and Galaxy S4 cases, kitchen accessories, wrapping and holiday cards, party invites, and even custom-made and off-the-rack wedding ones. If planning on purchasing some prints for your humble abode, look no further, as these – in particular the city dedicated ones seen on main image, and ‘The Anatomy of Love‘ – will add a pop of colour to your walls whilst turning your guests heads.
